Happy Tenth birthday! A decade ago, the Société des Régates de Cannes was created to helm the Régates Royales - Trophée Panerai's ashore organization.A decade ago, the Régates Royales entered the Panerai Classic Yachts Challenge as the circuit final regatta. Looking at our tracks, you'll see how hard M. Jean-Paul Ortelli until 2011 and M. Gérard Pascalini since then, have been working completely as volunteers CEO to bring the Régates Royales to the highest step. Twelve years ago, M. Jean-Pierre Odero left the Regates Royales as a part of the Prada Trophy dedicated to Metric Classes. Within ten years, upon the Société des Régates de Cannes spirit, the Régates Royales became one of the Major Classic Yachts Mediterranean event, preserving the authenticity and racing values. Our village grew up, gets nicer and provides more free services and comfort for visitors and sailors every year: concerts, mast climbing activity, nice range of exhibitors, etc...
Our key word? Loyalty and Partnership.
The City of Cannes is supporting us since 35 years, Panerai is blowing its partnership's tenth candle, same as 1001 Vagues our press agency while Marinepool joined us 8 years ago, same as Céline Castellanet our ashore coordinator.A big Thank you to all of your loyal partners, providers, sailors, volunteers and visitors to share with us this extraordinary adventure and spirit. Our next objective? Expend the Régates Royales- Trophée Panerai's soul over the harbor to reach Cannes's actors: shops, hotels, restaurants and citizens.Let's meet next September to celebrate this anniversary and see what would be next.
Founded in Florence in 1860 as a
workshop, shop and school of watch-making, for many decades Officine Panerai
supplied the Italian Navy in general, and its specialist diving corps in
particular, with precision instruments. In honour of its historic links to the
sea, Officine Panerai has promoted classic sailing culture for many years
through its sponsorship of the Panerai Classic Yachts Challenge, the leading
international circuit for these vintage craft. In 2007, the company also
acquired and restored the Bermudan ketch Eilean. Built in 1936 by the legendary
Fife yard at Fairlie in Scotland, she is now the brand’s ambassador at vintage
and classic boat rallies and regattas. -
